Common name: Puerto Rican Tody/ San Pedrito/ Medio Peso Scientific name: Todus mexicanus

  • Endemic to: Puerto Rico

  • Conservation Status: Least Concern

  • Sexual Dimorphism: None

  • Diet: Primarily Insectivorous, but they sometimes consume small Anolis lizards and frogs.

This photo was taken at El Yunque National Rain forest in Puerto Rico during a hike with my Ecology of Tropical Communities class last year. It was a beautiful morning to explore the great outdoors, and what better place than the only tropical rain forest in the United States.
